The natural wool is characteristic of Beni ouarain rugs from Atlas Mountains. Reserved exclusively for the women of this region of Morocco, the Berber beni ouarain rugs are made by alternating patterns composed of a knotted line and one or two lines woven from raw virgin wool, according to a ritual transmitted from mother to daughter for generations.
